Explaining eBays Newest Fee Pricing Changes By Lucas Lou eBay has changed the new pricing and fee structure for the 2008 selling year. And surprisingly, they have actually lowered some fees! Here is the breakdown, with a few new surprises you may not have expected. This is the year of the Detailed Seller Ratings. You know those 5 star feedback system that eBay implemented last year? Now it is more important than ever. You can actually receive a price break on your final value fees if you have high Detailed Seller Ratings. eBay has raised some of the final value fees, but if you have high stars you can offset this cost. The listing fees have been lowered. Some by over 50%. Also, the gallery fee has been waived. eBay wants to take away the initial risk of listing items, and have sellers feel free to list as much as they want. The idea is to take away the risk. Yes, the Final Value Fee has gone up on certain items, but with the all the discounts, most sellers will save money. eBay has also announced that Paypal will now give buyer protection to all 190 countries they are accepted in. They no longer will have unconfirmed addresses, so as long as you include delivery confirmation you can be protected. This is definitely going to be a huge benefit for eBays good sellers. The poor sellers who have low rating scores, or who have bad feedback will not benefit as much. It is time to get the bad sellers off of eBay anyway.
