One of the benefits of having an ebook is that you can use it to give it away and build an opt-in list. But perhaps you don't know where to get started in writing and creating your ebook. Have no fear, I will show you the way.

Let's start with the first step: deciding on the topic and title of your giveaway ebook. Preferably, your topic should be a niche, rather than a general topic. Your title should be catchy. I like to create reports with tips or steps. For example, "7 Simple Steps To Building An Opt-In List", or "30 Tips For Taking Better Photographs".

When you have your topic and title pinned down, it's down to the nitty gritty of writing your ebook. If you have expertise in the topic at hand, you can write the ebook yourself. What I do is I create a contents page first, and this gives me a sort of plan to write my ebook. Then for each day, I will spend an hour or two completing just one chapter. This makes completing your product easy, as you are breaking up the task into doable chunks.
