1. Age: Advertising can be aimed at specific age groups to attract the attention you want.

5. Industry: Fashion, Pets, Gardening, Information Markets, etc. Your pieces can be tailored to attract interest in a specific industry.

As an affiliate marketer, your goal is to attract interest that will translate into action. You write a concise, interesting article and if the reader wants more information, they will click on the link in the author's resource box to learn more. Your link should be to something that compliments the topic.

Example: If you wanted to target young women between the ages of 18-24 years old with a gardening e-book, your title would have a lot to do with how much interest your writing will generate. Instead of "Gardening - A simple pleasure", which might appeal to an older audience, you might try: "Your 21st Century Garden" or "This is not your Grandmother's Garden" to target younger readers.

Language is also very important when targeting a specific audience. Word choices can reflect different world-views. Current slang that would grate on older readers will simply be part of the culture of younger readers. "Groovy" is much older than "Blazing" which is part of today's culture.

Article writing is a great way to generate targeted traffic to your affiliate web site, and knowing your market makes the results go from average to spectacular! Decide in advance to whom you are writing to and your results will benefit from it.
