Relationship Marketing as it Relates to Your Work From Home Business

If you were walking down the street one day and bumped into a total stranger and, incidentally, this was a salesperson or a want to be entrepreneur; and he/she preceded to try to sell to you a product in case of the former or invite you to join in building a business together, in case of the latter, what would you do? Would you just reach for your check book or wallet to pay for this product or would you have your attorneys draft documents to incorporate a new business venture with this person...A resounding NO TO BOTH! Then why would person believe this would be reversed when one decides to marketing online.

Both in online of offline business environment relationship marketing must be the catalyst for your business to survive, it is a known fact that people do business more readily with someone they know than with a total stranger, so it's important that you and your customers have a mutual bond but not necessarily 'friends'. There is a thin line between a healthy working relationship and 'friendship' and both must never be confused because though similar in some respect they also can be as different as night and day. In relationship marketing there must be mutual respect and professionalism being displayed between the parties involved.

Relationship Marketing is emerging as a new phenomenon and is also a hinge between an effective advertising campaign and, getting and retaining your customer/client base. It is said, a quick buck is in the initial sale but the wealth is in the return purchases. Relationship marketing is a process, not a one-time event; clientle must understand that you are committed long-term and that they can depend on you to provide customer care, education and whatever is humanly and professionally possible to keep them satisfied.

Your clientle must have easy access to you almost on demand within reason. So please discard the hit and run attitude we all had in marketing online and start building a relationship with your customers.
