eBay Selling Tips To Improve Your Ad and Make Money On eBay By Pete Marks I have been selling on eBay since 1999. The largest online auction site has changed quite a bit but there are always guidelines and tips that prove useful over time and it pays to always be creative in how you list your items. When you create your ad always look at past auctions to see if a like item has ever been sold at a good bid. If it has pay notice to how it was advertised the title and what type of auction it was. Look at the end bid time. This may sound trivial and worthless and its not. You want to maximize your ad exposure and maximize the amount of money you make. Taking pictures well the more the item is worth or if it is an antique or collectible you will want more pictures. I have always taken the best pictures available and understated the condition of the item. Why, because the photos can talk for themselves. I have never received comments for overstating or over rating an antique. I may say something like "looks like mint but if you notice there are a few scratches in the lower left corner". Never miss lead on the condition of an item. - Consider ending auctions at 10pm eastern time this will give people on the west coast to get a bid in at 7pm. Consider ending auctions on Sundays. - Some items sell at higher prices when ending on different days consider Sunday first then work from there. - If you have several of the same items try different ads and end times and times and days to see which convert to a sale. - Research completed actions for the products you sell to see if you can make more money! - Packing peanuts the Styrofoam ones can usually be found free at many retailers - Depending on the item upgrading shipping to free at your expense can generate more bidding activity. - If you have a collectible or antique research it before posting. The more information in your auction ad the better. - The best and cheapest place to find scales, packing supplies and boxes is at eBay. - Always answer emails as soon as possible. Don't leave buyers hanging! - Always have the item pre-packed and ready to ship as soon as money is received. As a buyer there is nothing worse then no answers to emails. Try to be available to send a personal thank you by email and be available to answer any last minute questions. It pays to be around the last couple of hours of an auction and this should be considered a priority. Buyers tend to buy again from sellers should you sell similar items in the future. Never consider your customer a one shot deal they may end up leaving you a nice comment and buy from you again! To find out more please visit How To Make Money On eBay.
